Titanic Love Stories...

Who doesn't love a good Love Story?  How about 13 of them???

Even though I usually buy all my books on my Kindle E-Reader, every
once in awhile, while perusing  my favorite Bookstore, a book will jump out at me...that just yearns to be picked up, looked at and taken home...in hard-cover format.  I know that after I am finished with it, I will pass it along to
someone else to read and enjoy...as I no longer "collect" books to sit on a
bookshelf, gathering dust. (Too many years of moving both my own personal library and my husbands library.)  Books are heavy and we are tired of moving them. So,  I have decided that at the end of this article if you leave  me a comment...I will be giving away this book via a drawing.  After all...shouldn't Love  be passed around and shared?  I think so!

The question I would like you to comment on is this: What is it about the Titanic that keeps drawing
us back to it time and time again? As  I walked the bookstore today, there was an entire section of books about the Titanic and the making of the movie several years ago.  I think for me, it was such
a Tragedy of Epic Proportion...that I just want to know everything written about what happened. The statement that it was  "A Ship that even God couldn't sink!"  both appalled me and drew me in to wanting to know more about the braggart that boasted such a comment. Seriously?...who would dare boast something like that...it almost seemed like he was predestining the Ship for failure....by his
very words.

This particular book deals with the stories of the thirteen couples who were honeymooning on The Titanic on that fateful voyage. I found each couple very colorful and their lives intriguing. For someone who always loves a "Happy Ending"...I found this book didn't offer that...but it held a romantic pull on my heart all the same. There were also  little insights of trivia that I hadn't read before that added flavor to the reading.

If you don't find yourself particularly drawn to stories about The Titanic...maybe you would like to
share a comment about a Honeymoon Story of your own or someone you know, that turned out to
be less than they desired it to be.  I knew one such couple... who got married the day before Mt. St Helens erupted. Because the eruption caused almost total black-out conditions in the State of Washington in the middle of the day...they ended up having to get a dingy little motel room in the
town of Wilber Washington and all their honeymoon plans went up in ash. Not how they had wanted
or planned to spend their first days of wedded bliss. Non-the-less, a honeymoon they would never
forget!

Miss Peggy,
i think it is the courage of those who were on the Titanic. It was to be the boat of all times. YEt it was so sad that it never made it past the maiden voyage. The people who rode were on an adventure to see the world and share it with those they loved. While many did not live to share their hearts of that beautiful boat, those who did still remember it as though it were yesterday and thty remember the excitement, the adventure, and the courage it took to get on board and to survive when it went down. I don't know if I could have been that brave.

Just my toughts.
love to you my dear friend

I may be an odd duck here. I am not drawn to the whole Titanic story. I have never seen the "movie" and have no desire. I think the over hype by the media killed any interests for me. I have not even add it to my Netflix list. In saying that though, I did watch the documentation of the finding the ship. My main interest is the ship due to my previous service in the U.S. Coast Guard.

Last but not least... I am a romantic at heart and I love to read. I have chosen many books by the title and cover! I love an opportunity for a book to read!

Thank you for a chance!

Hi my dear friend,

I have always been fascinated by everything Titanic! We had an exhibit of Titanic artificats ....a whole exhibition here in San Francisco that I was so upset that I missed. Right now, on my bookshelf I have a book called Last Dinner on the Titanic and another book of Letters from the Titanic. This book, however, I have never heard of and it sounds fascinating!!! In fact, if I don't win I am going to try to find it on Amazon!

Thank you for this delightful giveaway...what a great idea!

Love and Hugs,

Tammy (Tammy your farmgirl sister)

Wow Peggy, I really don't know what to say about it. I've never seen the movie or read the book, but of course I have heard about it. And I agree with Tammy, the people had to have alot of courage, while going through that. Hugs, Penny

Hi Dear Peggy:

I have long been fascinated by all things Titanic. There was an exhibition of Titanic artifacts in San Francisco a couple years ago and I was so sad to miss it. It would have been wonderful. Right now, I have a couple books on my bookshelf...Last Dinner on the Titanic and I just got a novel called the Dressmaker which takes place on the Titanic. It looks really good. I would love to read your book which I have never heard of!!!! Here's keeping my fingers crossed!

Hi PEGGY,
Thankyou for your nice comment about my site.
Lets see about the book. I guess the draw for me is the time period. The rich and famous and the lower class. Both on the same ship, but not together. But in the end the class thing didn't matter anymore.
Like you I read a lot. I love my books.

This is one of my favorite movies, I have seen the old one and the newer one. It is a fabulous love story to me, there was so much courage, bravery, and love shown. To have not made it past its Maiden Voyage is so sad.
I have never read a book on the Titanic so I would like to win this one. If I do not win I will too try to purchase.
Thank you Peggy for this chance to win.
